Description

Jet's time spent in Rome was a dark period in her life. Following a series of reckless but contained attacks against Homeworld, she decided to take a break in The Roman Republic to try to clear her head. With the deaths of her sisters still clear in her mind, she believed the many pleasures the Republic had to offer would help ease her mind. The debauchery she partook in didn't help numb the pain however. The only thing she found entertaining were the gladiatorial games in Capua. Desperately, seeking an escape as well as an excuse to test a new martial art she mastered in India a few decades prior, she did the unthinkable. Jet sold herself to slavery to the ludus of Lentulus Batiatus, a prominent lanista in Capua. Jet enjoyed more privileges than her enslaved brethren because Batiatus knew she was gem warrior, making sure she was well treated in the hopes that she would bring his gladiatorial school to prominence. For a few years, Jet fought under House Batiatus defeating many other house champions across the region providing a spectacle the Capuans have never seen before. With an unbeaten record in the arena, Jet earned the name "Achillia The Unbroken." The fame was fleeting however. Eventually, even the games couldn't bring Jet out of the darkness. The only one who was able to console her was a fellow gladiator, a former legionnaire from the Thracian Auxilliary the Capuans called "Spartacus." Spartacus understood Achillia's pain. Prior to his enslavement, Spartacus lost his wife to the Romans after he deserted legion. The gladiatorial games provided him an escape from the dark memories as well. Fed up with the poor treatment of slaves, Spartacus just wanted out. Seeing the parallels between The Republic and Homeworld, Achillia decided to help Spartacus escape. Together with around 70 other slaves, Spartacus and Achillia revolted against House Batiatus killing its residents including Batiatus and his wife. From there, Spartacus and Achillia became lovers and together, they started a bloody war against the Republic alongside 120,000 slaves freed from various regions. This war would only last two years resulting with the destruction of the rebel army under the far more organized and highly efficient Roman war machine. Spartacus himself died in the Battle of the Siler River against the forces of Marcus Licinius Crassus. After the defeat, Achillia buried her lover before helping 5000 survivors flee from the Republic. Jet herself would return to her operations against Homeworld with a new found focus inspired by Spartaus.
